Wilhelm Bjørnson is a
sound-recordist, acoustician, and composer currently living in Manitoba.
Obsessive and hermetic, Bjørnson is most known for his pioneering
"helicopter captures" of the 70s and his unfinished opus "The
Helicopter". "My music reflects where my energies are focused.
Some people put their energy into collecting or into buying things or
their family; I started recording and reproducing sounds of flight –
particularly the helicopter – when I first immigrated in 57 and
I haven't felt a desire to do much else since. That's my focus. An artist
is allowed that focus. That's why I do this". |
